OVERVIEW
This project concluded that utilizing a REST API enables more efficient and flexible data transmission and retrieval. With REST API, temperature data can be sent from sensors to the server in real-time and displayed on a website through the Nginx Web Server. The REST-based architecture facilitates easier integration with various platforms and systems, accelerating development and enhancing application scalability.
THE CHALLENGE
- Temperature data from sensors had to reach the server and appear on a website in near real time.
- The API needed to be simple and flexible enough to integrate with different platforms and systems.
THE SOLUTION
- Built a REST API with Node.js to receive and serve temperature readings.
- Used the Nginx web server to deliver the monitoring page and handle requests.
- Created a web interface that displays the live temperature and provides on and off controls.
- Followed a REST-based architecture so the system is easier to extend and integrate later.
