OVERVIEW

Worktracker is a web-based time tracking and attendance system designed to help businesses manage employee time and attendance efficiently. It provides a user-friendly interface where employees can log in, clock in and clock out, and see their spent hours against normal work hours on a personal dashboard. The system also supports project and task management, with tasks organized by progress status, and generates reports for payroll and financial analysis. My role was Backend Developer in a team of 6.

THE CHALLENGE

Attendance records, project time, and payroll data had to stay consistent across the different parts of the system.
Payroll and financial reports required accurate calculations from data entered by many users.

THE SOLUTION

Designed the backend in Laravel with a clear separation between attendance, project, and payroll logic.
Structured the MySQL database so time entries link cleanly to employees, projects, and payroll periods.
Built report generation on top of the stored time data to reduce manual recalculation.
Coordinated API contracts with the frontend within a team of 6.
